Regarding diversity, I was glad to appreciate that fact that although the Hispanics made only 1% of the American population in the 1950s, prospects predict that by 2050, they will make up to a quarter of the US population (Hispanics in America. The History Channel 20th Century Mike Wallace). As such, this shows that the country has become more diverse with time, a factor that will likely improve harmony and integration. On the part of human rights, Hispanics have largely performed dismally in ensuring that individual liberties were observed. As a result, this has played a significant role in making Hispanics the largest immigrant groups moving to countries such as the US.

From my educational field experience, I have made several observations regarding the within-group diversity in the Hispanic clients as relates to culture, identity, difference, and social context. First, other than using English as a primary language, they also speak a lot of Spanish. Gonzalez-Barrera & Lopez, (2013) asserted that they believe in communism where every member of the Hispanic heritage is regarded as a family member. They are a prayerful paper with a significant population belonging to the Catholic denomination. Their primary philosophy in life is founded on overcoming challenges and being the best they can.

The information from the YouTube video will significantly help me in leveraging cultural competence when dealing with my Hispanic clients. First, I will practice cultural sensitivity by taking into consideration the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the Hispanics described in the video. With the statistics showing that Hispanics will soon occupy a quarter of the US population, I must immerse myself into their culture and understand it with the hope that in the future my Hispanic client-base will significantly increase.

London, (2012) asserted that leadership in advocacy is an important tenet especially when dealing emphasizing a particular social change. Hispanic children and families have suffered tremendously when it comes to human rights, social, and economic justice. Leadership in advocacy will provide me with the impetus to advocate for a social change through policy and legislation change in ensuring that Hispanics are regarded as equal members of the society. As such, this will ensure zero-rated racism, xenophobia, and discrimination across the social, economic, and political spectrum.
