The world is diverse on several fronts; economically, socially, culturally and even politically. It is, in fact, impossible for humans to share the same views on everything and anything on a normal basis. Diversity is, therefore, recognizing this fact and accepting it wholeheartedly as it exists even at workplaces. In healthcare and nursing, diversity affects nurses and other medical practitioners practice of medicine and this paper will discuss on how to analyze and implement issues arising from diversity.
Many theorists agree that there are two distinct dimensions of diversity; the more salient ones and the subtle ones (Gotsis, 2015). The salient ones are obvious to people to see for example gender and race while the subtle ones are social class or religion. I would, therefore, analyze such critical issues in diversity by realizing that the characteristics which are used in structuring individuals by groups eventually lead to discrimination at the workplace.

I would implement diversity initiatives by encouraging workmates to take part in educational programs which will provide them with the required skills to work in multicultural diverse settings. Furthermore, I would help organize polices that will guarantee fairness at my workplace and punish any forms of discrimination based on demographic or any other factors. In addition to this, I would perform appraisal systems which are not discriminatory in nature. To continue implementing diversity initiatives as a future nurse administrator, I would pursue helpful mentoring training programs for the minority groups.
The various social and ethical questions raised by the healthcare institution of my practice are the issues of confidentiality where a health practitioner is not supposed to reveal the health condition of patients to any third party. Another question is that of professionalism where the health workers are required to keep their relationships with patients and other workers professional at all times. Lastly, the issue of discrimination has been raised by the health institution of my practice and it forbids any form of discrimination based on diversity.
Conclusion
The world today is global and therefore it is normal to meet and interact with people from various different diverse backgrounds. In as much as people may seem different in terms of appearance, gender or race, any form of discrimination at the workplace or any other place is not advised. As a future nurse administrator, it is, therefore, important to analyze the critical issues in diversity and implement the diversity initiatives.
