It is no secret that political parties change over time based on the circumstances. Dwight D. Eisenhower presented one of the moments where the Republican party had to change. He was elected the President of the United States in 1952 elections when the Democratic party had controlled the United States' administration for over 20 years. Republicans could not define national politics then, yet Dwight D. Eisenhower still managed to win the elections.
Dwight D. Eisenhower's campaigns towards the presidency were primarily influenced by the Modern Republicanism that he had championed for a long time. It was considered a vision for the party to set the necessary tone for the United States' postwar ideologies. Therefore, he was considered an ideal and unusual person to oversee the Republic party's transformation and ideals. He had never voted before for any election and was never a member of the Republic party. Nonetheless, World War II had made him a star as a five-star general rather than a politician. He was responsible for overseeing Europe's invasion by the Allies and the German invasion that eventually led to the victory of the Allies. Despite his success, he maintained his distance from politics.

Modern Republicanism emphasized the need to maintain stability and national unity over the party's politics. It was a fiscally conservative presidency entirely with quite liberal social programs. He argued that people should always be liberal towards fellow human beings and conservative towards money. The programs by the liberal had to be conservative based on the costs. His administration discouraged individuals from Republicans who felt that the liberal social programs were unnecessary and needed to attend.
The republic party has since changed. Dwight D. Eisenhower's Republic party and the modern Republican party are quite different. For instance, Dwight D. Eisenhower believed that the social programs by the liberals were for the benefit of the people, hence vital. However, this is not the case with the modern Republican party. For instance, through Trump's administration, the Republic party has continuously frustrated social programs for ordinary citizens. President Trump campaigned for the presidency while promising to repeal Obamacare and other health programs initiated to benefit the citizens. A lot has since changed since then.
Political parties need to put the people's interests first before anything else, as Dwight D. Eisenhower's modern Republicanism. Political leaders should be like Dwight D. Eisenhower, who advocated for the country's ordinary people's interests and fiscal condition. There must always be a balance between the social programs meant for the people and their financial costs. Social programs must never be too expensive to be managed by the country's financial status. Neither should be social programs be too affordable that it does not support quality services to the people. A balance between the costs of social programs and the people's benefits should be the ultimate aim of any politician not in the United States but across the world.
