Poverty is a vice that drags most developing countries. Investing in human capital would be a perfect approach to help a developing country get rid of poverty. This approach refers to the idea of country investing in the nutrition, education, and health of the population (Costa, Datta, Machin, & McNally, 2018). Poverty affects the population, and therefore, it is important for a government to empower their populations to get rid of poverty. It is important to note that a sick population is less productive and cannot drive economic growth. For example, if a country suffers from an epidemic, workers will stop going to work, and production shall stop. Similarly, nutrition is critical because food is the source of energy that makes human beings become more productive. Therefore, investing in nutrition as a country is essential in making people strong. On a similar note, this approach is keen on literature and education of the population. Investing in education increases the level of skill of members of a country, making them viable for various jobs, which increases the general productivity of a country, the country’s GDP, and the income per capita.

Pathways to development can be very helpful to nations, especially developing countries. One such approach is the basic needs approach, a major means of measuring absolute poverty. Developing countries can employ this approach in measuring poverty to evaluate their levels of improvement in terms of eradicating poverty. Gross Domestic Approach is yet another measure of economic growth. Developing countries can use increased GDP to identify their respective economic growth. Developing countries can also employ liberation theology to fight poverty. This is the approach where countries fight the sources of poverty (Petrella, 2017). Another important development pathway is population restriction, an approach of population control to ensure that the limited resources are enough for a country’s population.
