The workers ’ unions act as a tool that plays a vital role in ensuring that wellbeing of the American working class is upheld and improved. Traditionally, the workers’ unions in America placed their focus and emphasis on the public sector and large industries rather than on those individuals working to earn a living (Chaison, 2006).

The dynamic nature of the American working class has gone to the extent of revealing the relevance and effectiveness of workers unions in various aspects. Fundamentally, workers unions have been instrumental in ensuring that workers in America receive fair treatment by their employers, the state and members of the public presently more than ever before. Some of the issues affecting the workers have gone through considerable streamlining and enhancement through the integration and revolution of the workers union in various sectors of the American economy where workers are involved (Chaison, 2006).

Such issues include safety measures, reasonable working conditions, and appropriate coverage of pension as well as worker’s health insurance among others. It is through workers unions that various employers across America have been able to maintain open and regular dialogues with workers in various sectors on fundamental issues affecting their daily responsibilities. Furthermore, salaries and other benefits for the working class in America have been made fiscally generous and reasonable as much as possible following the active engagements between the unions and various employers (Williams and Adam, 2009).

In conclusion, it is important to point out that the relevance and effectiveness of workers unions in America has continued to increase. It is expected that this tool will continue to play a critical role in bettering the lives and families of the workers. This is because such workers need collective power and effective representation as well as fair treatment at workplace presently and in future.
