An organization's success depends on the quality of managers' leadership skills to run the organization. Ineffective management limits the organization's ability to bring together diverse ideas that help the employees work towards achieving the organization's goals (Sarkany & Deitte, 2017). Poor leadership demotivates the organization's stakeholders and prevents the realization of the potential of employees who become less committed to their duties to assist the company to realize its plans. I once encountered a departmental head in Walmart Company Limited, who had ineffective feedback to the employees.

In most circumstances, the manager did not give his juniors and other team members feedback concerning its issues. The department conducted employee appraisals; however, the manager could not return the employees' feedback concerning their performance. Defective feedback mechanisms deny employees a chance to learn from their mistakes and improve performance based on the identified problems. It also demotivates employees since the high-performing employees may not be recognized and rewarded due to managers' inability to communicate findings to their juniors.

Therefore, streamlining the feedback system motivates and improves employees' performance since they will develop from their mistakes and understand their roles (Sarkany & Deitte, 2017). Managers should ensure effective communication is part of the organization to facilitate giving feedback early enough after appraisals. Timely feedback allows employees to associate certain behaviors with their impacts on performance.

The management should focus more on strengths while giving feedback. Strength-based feedback develops employees and increases their performance in the organization. Managers should motivate employees by appreciating their efforts when employees show commitment, hard work, and honesty to the organization. Therefore the feedback system is said to be effective when it involves a two-way process.
