Effective leadership challenges in health care may vary from a broad range perspective to personal barriers of communication. Some of these challenges include systemic barriers, ineffective communication structures, poor channels, and inefficient and inappropriate information systems. These barriers may result from poor management, personality conflicts, lack of motivation, and resistance to change (Arnold, & Boggs, 2019). The barriers affect both the sender and receiver of the message.
Organizational behavior examines an organization’s operations based on its leadership styles and employee relationships' hierarchy. Among organizational behavioral aspects is the method of communication whereby there must be a transparent mode of communication that involves body language and nonverbal cues. The other aspect is the companies’ culture and attitudes. Attitudes make up how employees are expected to treat each other, their jobs, and their customers. There should be an encouragement of strong culture and adoption of values necessary for business and employee development (Borkowski, & Meese, 2020). Then again, there is the leadership aspect. This aspect entails types of leaders and leadership styles used from the lowest level to founders and CEOs. A commanding leader is more beneficial to the organization who makes critical decisions on time.

Leadership's role in managing and motivating individuals within the work environment includes; team building, motivation, and inspiring, negotiation and communication, listening, and influencing staff. Motivational and inspirational leaders positively affect how the staff approaches their duties and their commitment to the organization. When negotiating and communication, a leader must find means to communicate clearly and with authority without making his/her staff feel undermined and unappreciated. With these attributes, a collaborative public health leader can consider the input of other key players in health, including those from the private industry and non-governmental organizations, management, and employees, while targeting a collective impact (Markle-Reid et al., 2017). Such will ensure that policies decided upon will be evidence-based and have a higher chance of success. New and innovative means of achieving health outcomes will also be adopted from collaboration.
