One of the essential factors in leadership as a nurse supervisor is motivating your team members to accomplish specific team goals. By appreciating and recognizing your team members, work is done effectively, which produces positive results. There tends to be pressure from each department; however, to create a good relationship between the supervisor and the team members, motivation and support is highly recommended. Additionally, leadership is everyone's responsibility, including nurse supervisors, CEOs, and even staff members; therefore, supporting each other creates a proactive working environment. When team members do not feel motivated, productivity gets low hence creating a toxic working environment. Nurses begin to have backlashes with each other, and some do not avail themselves at work. As a supervisor, I would commit to positive communication, developing a friendly and supportive atmosphere with my team members by greeting them every morning before work begins. Moreover, I would regularly listen to my team's feedback in an open discussion, share their daily challenges, and develop solutions, hence increasing productivity.

Secondly, solving problems effectively in a nursing environment requires democratic leadership by involving team members in finding quick solutions. In administration, problem-solving helps the individuals involved to exert control over the workplace, improving performance. In nursing, problem-solving addresses risks that may also apply to the future if the problem reoccurs, providing the individuals involved with better skills and knowledge in making decisions. Additionally, problem-solving skills help leaders identify and explore more opportunities by creating new ideas that best fit the working environment. As a nurse supervisor, I would encourage an open discussion with my team members to communicate the problems we face daily and find possible solutions by creating a suggestion box. Additionally, if a nurse feels overwhelmed with a patient, I could partner with a more experienced nurse to help with the patient's care.
