For severe endocarditis, the patient can either undergo prophylaxis, surgery, or organ removal. Surgery, therefore, is one most common interventions for the patients suffering from endocarditis. But how do you understand or know whether a patient should undergo surgery when they suffer from endocarditis? The first when the patients have heart failure, the need surgery. Also, patients exhibit signs of uncontrolled infections that need surgery. Also, there are other situations such as embolism, which a patient shows indicate that there is a need for surgical intervention ( Tina Varghese). Others are s evere valve dysfunction, prosthetic valve  infection , invasion beyond the valve leaflets.

Despite the surgery, there are different antibiotics that these patients can use to help patients. For instance, penicillin or ampicillin are critical antibiotics for a patient surfing from endocarditis. These antibiotics can be vital when they are a combination of the gentamicin can also be advisable for the patient. Also, a combination of vancomycin or ampicillin-sulbactam can be useful for the patients (Witten, 2019). However, such drugs should be used together with medicines such as an aminoglycoside.
