Starbucks Company is an American multinational chain of roaster reserves and coffeehouses. The business operates in more than 70 countries ( Lumpkin & Achen, 2018) . The enterprise's success is attributed to Howard Schultz's transformational leadership and its current chief executive officer, Kevin Johnson. The leaders utilized charismatic personalities and values to create a transformational environment for their followers. Johnson motivates influence and uses referent power to overcome business challenges and achieve mutual success. The leadership of a business is centered on the style utilized and how leaders communicate their ideas.

Implementation of a change is a current problem that Starbucks can address due to workers' failure to adhere to leadership demands. Leaders offered transitional mechanisms that foster improvement in the firm's business. However, some employees disagree with laid down change protocols. Implementing change issues can be addressed by empowering staff and motivating them to deal with resistance ( Lumpkin & Achen, 2018) . The organization can also address the challenge by making permanent resolution regarding the change. Workers should be convinced of the importance of embracing change by creating a task force that can design incentive programs to foster sustainability.

Followers can change the behavior of the leader using different influential mechanisms. They can change how the leaders behave by being resourceful. Effective followers understand their impact on either the success or failure of a business. They change the company's leadership perception by initiating a discussion on goals and vision that needs to be achieved. Sharing their experiences with the leadership and openly discussing individual abilities and goals contributes to how a business's leadership is executed Fiaz et al. 2017). Followers who are candid about their constraints and strength become sources of strength to lead. The staff also influences their leaders by helping them improve on how they execute their responsibilities. The followers can shape leadership by discussing with them what they need to succeed. Such helps the leader know the roles that one should play to enhance workers' effective engagement. Complementing and addressing the shortcoming of the leaders openly also helps in reinforcing their behavior. Followers who appreciate their leaders and honestly express their counterproductive nature enable them to recognize the need for change.

Leadership styles have an impact on the performance, motivations, and behaviors of followers. Transformational leadership style affects the performance, motivation, and behavior of the followers by converting their existing business structure to one that the leader view is desired, and such leaders change the behavior of the workers by enabling them to adopt new ways of transacting the business. The leadership also contributes to improvement in followers' performance by changing their mindset to effective and efficient work norms ( Lumpkin & Achen, 2018) . They instill the followers with new organizational values that allow them to understand their duties better. They also motivate the followers by developing a relationship characterized by open communication and team building. Another leadership style that contributes to effective followers' behavior, motivation, and performance is the transactional method. It focuses on results, and therefore, it ensures that desired behavior, better performance, and employee motivation are achieved through a system of rewards and punishment. Employees' performance is subjected to a routine review process that facilitates the achievement of desired job behavior, and motivation is done by the reward-penalty system.

Improvement in Starbucks' leadership training methods can be done through real-world experience and mentoring and coaching initiatives. Real-world training programs enable the leaders to engage in more responsibilities and challenge them with new assignments and situations ( Fiaz et al. 2017) . Much of what affects the businesses is situational challenges, and thus, experiences from real-life shape leadership decisions. Mentoring and coaching programs allow senior and junior managers to share information that fosters improvement of the company's productivity. Performance measures of Starbuck can be improved by tracking relevant business metrics performance indicators. For instance, the firm needs to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to help the company measure its workers' output concerning goals identified.
