Diversity has become part of families, school, and different cultures. In a normal education system, all people, regardless of education status, cultures, or social status, should be discriminated. This enhances productivity and creates a sense of togetherness in the society. Education is an important element in achieving the growth of society and should be diverse. It opens a 'golden door' that allows children with disabilities transcend across different cultural barriers to achieve their dreams. With diversity, students from different cultures are able to learn and embrace others and eliminate racial and sexism prejudice (Gay, 2018). Complex human issues like child abuse or drug abuse will affect the successful delivery of special education services. This is because children with disabilities require close attention and more time to grasp the different concepts in classrooms.

Families, cultures, and schools play a critical part in a learner’s experience. For instance, the cultural affiliation of the parents influences the understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cultural believes of the parents and educators influences decision making in providing service to children with disabilities and how children with disability are perceived in the education sector (GCU, 2019). This means that the culture and family issues present a unique challenge for the educators, parents, and other related service providers in working together towards providing quality education to children with disabilities. Issues in a family such as a divorce or financial problems come with emotions that interfere with student's focus at school and back at home. As a teacher, a better understanding of families and culture helps me understand the students and provide better services.

As a teacher, the ability to understand the differences in how students with exceptionalities interact is fundamental in providing teaching services. These students interact differently at various stages of development and learning process. To a large extent, knowledge help provide meaningful and quality learning experiences (J. Banks & C.Banks, 2009). The artifact used to assess this was a picture of cards with foam numbers. This was used with a group of students as phonics task. By engaging with the students, I was able to recognize and understand students with and without disabilities based on their academic and cognitive prowess.

Lifelong learning as a teacher helps enhance learning quality. As a teacher, lifelong was important in extending my knowledge base, skill, and teaching activities, especially when dealing with children with disability. Teacher development as a form of knowledge and skill enhancement is essential for long-term learning for both the teacher and the student. This leaves the process significantly important for professional development. With lifelong learning, teachers are able to understand the host community, their culture, and students to facilitate interaction.

As a special educator, collaborating with related service providers, personnel, and other stakeholders helped address the specific needs of the individual students. Through involvement with their families in different educational processes, I was able to engage with their families and the students and collaborate in all aspects of education and the general well-being at school.
