Human interactions in the office often lead to a series of issues that are often legal and ethical especially in terms of diversity. The human resource (HR) department is entrusted to handle such trivial issues in the selection and retention of employees while at the same time appreciating diversity. Diversity comes as a result of class, age, gender, disabilities, ethnicity and race, just to mention a few. Several consequences exist when such laws are broken, tasking the HR department to be proactive and agile when handling human interactions regarding employment. Lack of diversity often leads to deterioration of employee morale and reduction in productivity (Lindenberger, 2016). Discrimination is also another consequence of diversity. It is rather inevitable to have different views in organizations that embrace diversity. Some minority groups such as people of colour in an all white organization may lead to internal feuds and open attacks from groups that consider themselves superior. Such tensions may cause stress among some employees while at the same time contributing to a reduction in the morale among employees; this greatly affects the success of the company. The HR department needs to know how to handle such cases and train employees on the importance of diversity and how it will affect their interactions in the office.

The office is not the only place that faces challenges, healthcare organizations also find it challenging to incorporate programs that factor in minority groups. Currently, healthcare organizations are finding ways of incorporating minority groups such as the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGTB) group to ensure everyone receives optimum healthcare. Some healthcare organizations have created supportive social connections while at the same time educating healthcare providers and all the people who are involved in the healthcare system. The organizations also creates policies such as the anti- bullying policies in schools to minimize stigma and create public awareness of such groups. Students in the healthcare systems are also trained to embrace such diversity (Johnson, 2016). Diversity is a necessary component for any organization and this should be embraced at all times. The world is fast changing; it is impossible to live in a globalized world without accepting change.
