Jessica Macleod, the nurse practitioner in Evansville, Indian faces various ethical dilemmas during her home care services. Some of the patients of Jessica are elderly with multiple chronic health conditions, which is a major problem in old age. According to Akhtar (2018), older people above the age of 60 years have numerous mental and physical changes in which their functionalities tend to be declining, meaning they need help and attention for effective functioning in their daily lives. Moreover, this age brings with it economic constraints due to retirement and being less productive. Therefore, Macleod is in an ethical dilemma when she meets older patients with multiple health complications but lacks the money to pay for the services.
In such an ethical dilemma, I would begin by gathering focused data concerning the patient's illness after which I administer the treatment with the means available. Through employing open communications with the patient, I would gather all the necessary information concerning their medical plans as well as relatives that could offer the necessary assistance with their daily activities and financial help (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2005). Nonetheless, in cases where the old individual lacks all the social supports, I would recommend them to an old-age care home where they can get all the necessary help.

In the documentary, Jessica Macleod provides value to the underserved parts of the markets. As an innovator, Jessica introduces convenience, simplicity, affordability, and accessibility in the underserved community, which helps to redefine the healthcare industry.
My ethical values and beliefs encourage lending a hand whenever I encounter a person in need. However, in the nursing profession, payment is necessary for the services delivered, thus a contradiction of the beliefs. Therefore, to overcome the barrier, I needed to separate work with personal beliefs, as well as take an initiative of referring these individuals to the areas they can receive the necessary help they require. This conflict between the personal morals and the rules of the nursing profession can result in stealing of medical supplies to cater for the needy, which would have negative repercussions such as losing the job. Therefore, this barrier encourages more professionalism in the nursing practice and adhering to the set standards.
