The key functions of the stained glass windows that are there in the Gothic style in Europe's cathedral architecture; signify the importance of a story told about the coming of the Apocalypse and the last judgment. It is also a sign of the stories that are the in the Bible; regarding the Apocalypse in the Old Testament going on to the New Testament.
The major types of differences between the Romanesque and Gothic cathedral type of making are that; the prior has a form of rounded arches outside which is observed as it has a fortress which contains some thick walls and also the rounded arches. Looking at most windows are based at the top and the small one being placed at the bottom; the making cannot accommodate thick windows since the buttresses that are there cannot support the weight of the arches that have sizeable stained glass windows which are advantageous due to letting sunlight in at the bottom (Mrborup, 2009). Gothic making, on the other hand, has appointed arches flying buttresses that have been designed to support the weight at the bottom; can also let in the sunlight. I prefer the Gothic form of making because of the exclusive details such as the arches which make it exclusive from that of the Romanesque Cathedrals.

One form of structure that resembles that of the Romanesque or Gothic that I observe is the Memorial Presbyterian Church St. Augustine, FL. It was made in 1889 by one Henry Flager to honor her daughter, who met her untimely death caused by childbirth complications; the church is observed as one of the oldest in Florida. The making was inspired by Venetian Renaissance architectures that are known as St. Mark's Cathedral the church structures a one fifty-foot tall copper dome that has twenty feet tall Greek cross.
