Various factors have led to increasing health care costs. One of the factors that have led to increased health care costs is rewarding medical providers for doing more instead of being efficient. Most insurers such as Medicare pays hospitals, doctors, and other health providers under a charge-for-service framework that repays them for each visit, strategy, and test. The costly new drugs, technologies, and procedures introduced in the healthcare system have increased health care costs. As medical advances enhance people’s life, they also add cost to healthcare. Health professionals and patients demand expensive treatment even if there is no evidence that they are better.

Lack of enough consumer information to make fully informed decisions about medical care is another factor that increases health care costs. As much as medical journals and the internet provide vast information about medical care, there is no uniform way to comprehend treatment options and the costs that comes with these treatment options (Kim et al., 2017). The fear of negligence claims is another factor that drives spending on healthcare. Jury awards as well as malpractice premiums are some of the things that drive spending. On the other hand, unnecessary prescribed treatment and tests in fear of claims increase health care costs.

As much as people face challenges caused by increased health care costs, these challenges can be minimized using various ways. The challenges of increased health care costs can be minimized by institutionalizing quality and security announcing activities. The government ought to give direction by detailing necessities for quality and wellbeing projects and further stating licensure limitations to promote consistency and reduced consistency costs (Kojima, 2019). Apart from institutionalizing quality and security announcing activities, boosting proficiency through streamlining programs can diminish increased health care costs. Boosting proficiency limit regulatory costs that are incurred during supplier enlistment as well as credentialing forms. Health organization should, therefore, cooperate to make a compulsory supplier enlistment and credentialing system that provide every single fundamental data to important partners.
