FEMA - Proper Emergency Response

The occurrence of frequent disasters brought the need for the formation of response teams. This was achieved by the federal state in conjunction with the local emergency bodies to facilitate proper emergency response hence FEMA. This body facilitated the provision of skills, equipment and training to save more lives and help survivors in the occurrence of a disaster. The emergency response system is made up of individuals who specialize in Rescue, medical professionals and logistics. In instances where there is disaster response, teams have various responsibilities. The major one is assessment and evaluation of the area of disaster. This gives them the ability to make precautions judgment to facilitate the facilitated survivors. Research suggests by Ganz et al. (2015) that by incorporating high skills in conducting surveys they can provide proper avenues for the medical care emergencies to the entrapped survivors. 

A significant example of a rescue operation is the extraction of miners from a mine that has collapsed. The first procedure is to ensure the identification of possible dangers which should be addressed such as, toxic gases, explosions and fire. The expertise who understand mines can be very useful as they offer their different geological knowledge. The rescue teams ensure they have protective gear and lamps to identify the direction and any potential danger of smoke. Finally, the execution of a comprehensive plan developed beforehand is significant, which should occur as they seek for signs of life among the survivors and offer first aid as they are moved to safer grounds. In conclusion, the formation of FEMA has led to significant impact such as formation of emergency responses that offer adequate awareness hence saving more lives.
