The Florida Action Coalition was created to help nurses improve the healthcare environment by promoting collaboration among diverse stakeholders, such as health foundations, businesses, governments, and universities, among others. The main purpose of this coalition was to improve nursing which was provided to Floridians by embarking in three areas of improvement, namely education, leadership, and practice. However, the future nursing may potentially be affected by two main challenges: the lack of clinical nurses and proper compensation; which could be solved by introducing a policy on unionization of nurses to promote equal compensation and allocation of professional nurses.
The coalition has identified other issues in nursing which needs to be resolved in order to improve the quality of care, such as promoting diversity nursing. As such, a diversity team was formed to expand the field of advice for the benefit of Florida nursing practitioners and to achieve an improved quality care to Floridian patients who are from diverse backgrounds (FCN, 2019). Nonetheless, there are two main challenges that seem that they will continue to affect the field of nursing in the future: shortage of clinical nurses, and compensation. Finkelman (2015) reveals that there is a shortage of professional and personal nurses today, which has led to inequitable assignments in most healthcare settings. Staffing is reported to be inadequate for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses in most American states, leading to increased incidences which results from the few existing nurses being tired of taking care of large numbers of patients in major health centers, The second challenge is the lack of proper compensation, such that wages paid to current nurses are regionally defined based on the cost of living (Finkelman, 2015). These wage gaps have caused a low interest by nurses to seek jobs in public health centers, reducing the quality of care that is offered in government health organizations.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
A master’s nurse can introduced an effective policy to amend the two challenges such as by suggesting that there should be unionization of nurses to solve the problem of staffing levels at the local, state, and international levels. This would give nurses the voice to appeal of equality or increased wages in all healthcare settings and ensure that there is equal distribution of professional and clinical nurses in all healthcare organizations.
