Social movement is among the significant social change I have seen in my life. The emergence of social movements has been facilitated by people with a common interest coming together to conduct peaceful demonstrations to air their views. I have seen different social movements from students and employees who use these demonstrations to get the attention of the government or higher management in their organizations (Carty, 2018). The social movements are nor recurrent as once the issue is solved, they are not repeated.
Coalescence of the social movements prompted by shared interests. A social movement made by nurses across the world, for instance, with the nurses aiming to get a higher payment and demanding other nurses to be hired to help cover the excessive workload. Such nurses work in different hospitals, but they have a common issue of being paid by the government, which delays their payments and rarely higher enough nurses.

Routinization of the movement is seen when demonstrating social groups accepts to conduct negotiations with the government. A specific number of people is chosen who will have sittings with the government, discuss the issue, and agree on changes that will be made. In turn, the social movement will stop their operations and go back to work and wait for the agreement made to be completed. If the authority does not keep their word within the specified time, the social movement is free to conduct the demonstrations again.
The media changes to reflect the activities of social movements by airing their grievances and following their peaceful demonstrations throughout. Media participation enhances the process by making the authority learn about the existing issue ( Carty, 2018) . The government also uses the media to reassure the entire society that they are addressing the problem. Social media keeps the nation aware of how the problem is being addressed.
