The primary healthcare issue in the news recently is the death of frontline care providers in the United States. According to The Guardian, the deaths of the healthcare workers due to the COVID-19 has become an issue of concern. In an article titled "Lost in the frontline," the rising mortality of the healthcare workers raises concern over the effectiveness of the healthcare system ( The Guardian, 2020 ). The issue was in the news because of its significance as currently, the country is battling with the pandemic. People rely on the healthcare workers to provide care for the patients at this time of the pandemic. The rising death rate among frontline workers remains a crucial concern for the U.S. healthcare system.

The significant elements of newsworthiness are based on the impact of the news, timeliness and human interest. The news of the COCID-19 has a considerable effect on the general public. People would be interested in such news because the pandemic has become a key concern for many seeking healthcare services. The healthcare management focuses on promoting efficiency and accessibility for the care services within the country ( Ng et al., 2020 ). People can achieve this by having the right team of frontline workers motivated to deliver quality care. There is a need to ensure these frontline workers are protected from infection. It is especially when in the line of their duty, which creates a sense of concern for the public members who all need to have access to quality care.
