The human body, on average, undergoes two trillion mitotic cell division every day. over a lifetime, billions and billions of cell division take place in the human body; however, not all these cells follow the programmed rules of mitosis cell division. Abnormal cell division occurs during the process forming the basis of cancer development. In her article "The Role of Cell Division in Tumor Formation," Sarah Moore explains that the cell cycle is a human body program that determines the process of cell growth and division. Any deviation from the pre-programmed cell division process is the beginning of cancer development, where the cells will grow freely without control by the body.

Complex series of signaling pathways play a crucial role in determining how cells copy the DNA from the parent cell and how they divide into daughter cells. The body also has processes to correct the errors during cell division, such as engaging apoptosis that helps remove the mutated cells, thus preventing further cell mutation. The ability of the body to regulate the process of cell division has a significant role in preventing the development of cancer by ensuring that no cell grow or divide against the normal process. The article indicates that when the cell cycle process fails to regulate and correct errors during cell division, the cells in the body will mutate and grow without control, resulting in cancer or tumor development.

The beginning of tumor or cancer development is when the cells in the body tissues proliferate without any process such as apoptosis that can help regulate and correct errors during cell mutation. After the error occurs without correction in cell division, the cells within the tumor continue to grow and divide and secreting proteases that can break down the extracellular matrix enabling it to spread to other tissues in the body. After breaking out of the original tissue, cancer can metastasize as it enters into bloodstreams and lymphatic systems, causing secondary tumors in different parts of the body. The tumor can also continue to replicate through cell division, resulting in more abnormal tissue throughout the body.

The article provides crucial information concerning the process of cell division and the impacts that occur when abnormal cell division occurs in the body. The report "The Role of Cell Division in Tumor Formation" by Sarah Moore provides crucial information concerning how the body prevents abnormal cell division through the process of apoptosis. The human body regulates cell division, and when an error occurs, the body responds by killing such mutated cells to avoid the development of tumors or cancer that occurs when cells grow and divide without control. The article also provides information concerning how cancerous cells can move from body tissue to the other after releasing proteases that can destroy the cellular matrix enabling them to move freely in bloodstreams and lymphatic systems.

The article is also informative when it comes to the cell cycle and the development of tumors and cancer. The process of cell cycle ensures that during mitosis, all the cells in the human body follow a pre-programmed process preventing them from changing the DNA materials and characteristics. If the cell cycle malfunctions, the growth and division of cells in the tissues will be out of control, and the daughter cells will have different characteristics from that of the mother cells, causing a tumor. The article is also relevant to the classwork because it provides information concerning the role of DNA and its importance in ensuring that the next generation has similar characteristics with the previous one.
