Leadership is a vital aspect for any organization. For an organization to fulfill its goals and objectives it calls for the best leadership skills necessary to push the organization towards the right direction. Therefore, having the right information necessary to increase leadership effectiveness is very important in guiding a leader on the best possible actions to take.
The role of a leader in any position is quite stressing and sometimes calls for sacrifice to achieve results. Such sacrifices are not easy to make and requires a lot of energy to do so. Being a volunteer for ABC Animal Rescue, the Board of Directors chose me to represent them in a fundraising event in the local community. Making such a decision is not easy considering there are other qualified employees of that organization.

In a world where things are rapidly changing it is very important for a leader to be focused (Jones, 2015). From a set of decisions to be made a leader should narrowly focus on the most important and urgent decisions to allocate resources that are scarce. As a volunteer am a resource to the organization and being sent on behalf of the organization creates room for other more important tasks to be carried out by the rest of the employees.
Change is rapid and happens very fast. Quick implementation of key actions ensures progress of vital areas. Having to implement such decisions without causing delays is a success factor in good leadership. The decision by the Board of Directors to delegate the assignment was maybe due to rapid change of plans that had been put.
Leaders who make a real impact are those who refuse to accept status quo (Casse, 2014). Taking challenges as a leader allows one to develop different reference points to a situation. Having different views on a situation offers numerous potential solutions to problems. The plan to delegate the assignment by the Board of Directors might have been a test to see if I could step up to the challenge after a long time of volunteering.
In conclusion, having the necessary information to increase leadership effectiveness is very important for any leader. Unnecessary decisions may be avoided as well as keep the employees happy and motivated creating a good working environment for all.
