On Grand Parenting

I have a close relationship with two of my grandparents. Our relationship is based friendship and trust since I feel comfort in consulting them with personal sensitive matters pertaining my life. Moreover, there are three fundamental familial characteristics that have influenced the relationship between me and my grandparents. These include love, emotional support and encouragement that exists between me, my grandparents and the rest of my family. Nevertheless, the familiar relationships between my grandparents and I have not been affected by having multiple grandparents.

Moreover, I have two grandparents who have passed on. They passed on five years ago and their passing made me realize that life is unpredictable. As such, it is important to cherish the time you have with the people you care about when they are still alive. Also, the death of the two grandparents made me improve my relationship with the remaining grandparents. Ultimately, when I become a grandparent, my primary role to my grandchildren will be to become their life adviser. Also, my favorite activities that I will do with my grandchildren will include teaching them about life lessons and also playing indoor interactive games with them.

Middle Adulthood

I would place middle adulthood to be occurring between the ages of 45 and 65. Additionally, there are several physical changes that I believe occurs during the middle adulthood stage. Moreover, these include developing gray hair, age spots, skin wrinkles, weight gain, hearing loss as well as vision loss. Also, the cognitive changes that occur during middle adulthood include a decline in the response or reaction time as well as changes in the problem-solving skills and decision-making style. Also, there are two similar typical characteristics that can be recorded between the 20-year-olds and a 60-year-olds. These include their desire for healthy social relationships and their need for financial capabilities or independence.

Nevertheless, the 20-year-olds and 60-year-olds are different in terms of their social needs and partners, and also with respect to their physical and mental capabilities. For example, the 20-year-olds are more energetic and aggressive in accomplishing various tasks compared to the 60-year-olds who are less aggressive but careful or systematic when tackling various activities. Also, one of the cultural activity that I believe can make middle adulthood difficult than all the other stages in life is marriage. Additionally, this is because, after marriage, persons are expected to be mindful of their partners’ emotional needs even when developing social connections with others.

Ultimately, it is plausible that middle adulthood forms the most stable years of a person’s lifespan. Additionally, this is because at this period, an individual has a firm realization of what he/she would like to achieve and he/she tolerates complacency with what he/she has in life. For instance, an individual at this stage could be satisfied with his/her car, house, church or hospital that he/she attends among other things. As such, people at this age are not affected by the pressure to achieve such things compared to individuals in early adulthood.
