Senator Todd Christopher Young is an accurate description that leaders are born and not made. On August 24, 1972, he was born as a second child to Nancy R. and Bruce Young. The Senator enlisted in the U.S. Navy and applied to the United States Naval Academy, where he obtained a B.S. in political science. Todd Young then undertook studies in Naval Intelligence and, upon completion, headed the VMU-2 Intelligence department. In his studies, he served as a class officer and made it to the soccer team. He advanced his studies and obtained an MBA in business, M.A. in American Politics, and J.A. in law.
From an early age, he was against the increase of the tax burden on Americans, a clear indication of his political position as a Republican. In 2017, he founded a movement that advocated for fiscal responsibility. The bulk of the public finance is obtained from taxes collected. Therefore, public officers and State organs must employ prudent spending of the funds using transparent channels while also being accountable and open to public scrutiny. The advocacy group's primary purpose was to hold the government accountable for any irresponsible financial spending.

Todd received several endorsements during his primary election campaigns in 2010 from many individuals, including Vice President Dan Quayle, Attorney General Greg Zoeller, and Todd Rokita, the secretary of state. Reports also indicate that he received financing during his 2016 campaigns from organizations, political affiliation campaigns, and others (The Center for Responsive Politics, 2021). His fiscal budgeting skills are demonstrated by his ability to save the money raised during the campaign.
As an actual Republican, Senator Todd is against restrictive taxes. Republicans believe that wherever taxes affect penalizing or discouraging investments, they should be lowered (Ballotpedia, 2021). The Senator introduced the Fairness for American Families Act to amend the application of the Affordable Care Act to 2015, three years from the proposed timeframe. The ACA imposed an individual mandate to purchase insurance premiums, a failure to which persons were subjected to the payment of taxes. His understanding was that the ACA did not lower healthcare costs; instead imposed a new tax burden on the middle-class families who had little or no use of the insurances. He also challenged the divisions caused by exempting businesses and labor unions and advised that the same should be uniformly applied.
Gun control is a rather hot topic in the U.S. that has elicited different opinions from different demographics and political parties. The Republican Party promotes lawful gun ownership as a right of every individual to defend and ensure the safety of himself and his property. The Senator received endorsement from the National Rifle Association during his run for Senate in 2016. He believes in gun ownership which is based on safe use and competency. Whereas Republicans firmly oppose the ban on the sale of the most popular rifles, Senator Todd was amongst the opposers of ammunition to Saudi Arabia during the Trump era.
The highest priority of Republicans is to secure borders and enforce immigration laws. However, the Senator shared a partisan view to the admission of immigrants upon satisfying the legal criteria. He believes that asylum seekers should be allowed permanent residence based on merit and skills (Doherty et al., 2021). Contrary to the retired president Donald Trump's administration which openly rejected any immigrants viewing them as competitors for their American job opportunities. He rejected the separations of families when opining on the Mexico-U.S. border dispute.
Whereas several opinion polls vote to rate him with about 69% conservatism and 31% liberalist, he is an agile leader. He firmly believes in safeguarding the voter's rights. Additionally, he was among few Republican officials who voted for the count during the 2020 U.S. Presidential elections. When questioned about it, he opined that opinions do not count when it comes to the law. He is pro-life and shares a partial view on same-sex marriages. Senator Todd Young is a true soldier to his country.
