Most and Least Beneficial Courses
As a healthcare information administrator, one of my core responsibilities at the hospital is to monitor quality performance and outcomes of the patients’ treatment. In effect, this implies that the HCS 451 course on quality health care management and analysis will be beneficial. Also, as a healthcare administrator, communication is an essential skill that enables the proper passing of information between the different sectors of the hospital. Hence, HCS 135: Business communication skills for the healthcare professional is a beneficial course. Additionally, HCIS 140 course on Fundamental of electronic health records is helpful because it will enable me to leverage medical data of patients to improve performance. Understanding the electronic health records of the hospital as an administrator is essential for better strategies and performance of the hospital.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Further, HCS 465 on Health care research utilization is an equally valuable course because it will enable me to apply research methodology to the hospital in which I work and propose proper methods to improve performance in the hospital. HCS 120 on Medical terminology of healthcare professional is another more beneficial course because I need to be well conversant with all the terms that are used in the hospital setting for improved understanding of communication. My other responsibility as a health care administrator is to apply management and leadership skills towards driving positive change in the hospital. Thus, HCS 325 on health care management is a critical course of the program. HCS 335 on Health care ethics and responsibilities is also another essential course because it allows me to ensure that ethical values are followed by all the employees in the hospital, which brings about an organized work environment.
HCS 235 on health care delivery in the US is more beneficial because it allows me to understand the dynamics of healthcare in the US and therefore, propose a measure that will improve health care. HCS 305, on Health care professional development, is also more beneficial because it allows me to understand key strategies to apply to achieve progress and growth in healthcare. The least helpful courses include HCS 380 on health care accounting and HCS 385 on Health care finance because they are not directly applicable as a health care administrator since I do not handle the finances of the hospital. Also, HCS 490 on Health care consumer trends is least beneficial because it focuses more on the marketing strategies that are controlled by the marketing department of the hospital.
Chosen Electric Track
Health administration will be my elective track. I intend to focus on creating an outstanding hospital in the region that I will manage will be defined by the provision of quality care, effective legal achievement, ethical responsibility, and well organized human resource. My career goal is to have a health care administration that is effective and allows patients to receive treatment without any fear. Also, my career goal as a hospital administrator is to create and hospital that will be every patient choice of the treatment center. I believe that having health care administration as my elective will allows me to gain the skills that are necessary for the proper running of a hospital administration. The administration has the powers to change how the hospital is run by instilling the right values among the workers, which provide primary care to the patients. Also, through the administration, the hospital can focus on the acquisition of the required human resource and equipment necessary for the provision of quality care to patients. Through the provision of quality care to the patients, the outcomes of patients’ treatment will be boosted, reducing the rates of hospital readmission and decreasing mortality rates.
Additionally, adequate health care administration allows for the faster hospital admission process and discharge for patients since the administration focuses on monitoring of activities taking place in the hospital and implementing the desired changes in the hospital. The legal issues that are faced by the hospital are expertly handled by the administration, which also includes the complaint raised by the patients. Under my administration, I will ensure that the legal procedures of the hospital are adhered to and all the raised concerns are addressed. The image of the hospital is explained through the services that are provided to the patients and how they are delivered, which are also under the management of the hospital administration. Therefore, I firmly believe that taking health care administration as my elective will enable me to achieve my career goals by putting in place the correct foundation of the hospital operations.
Part 3
I would specialize in the Masters in Health care administration if I were to further my education after completing the BSHA program. Upon completion of the MHA, I will hold a leadership position in a health care position which is critical in driving the desired changes in healthcare management. With and MHA, I will have the powers to manage and motivate the workers to achieve maximum performance which includes creating a conducive environment for the delivery of quality healthcare to patients. Also, with an MHA, I will have the privilege of access to hospital medical data that I will use in making decisions concerning the cost, patient-centrism, and health of the population. Making an informed decision about the hospital is a critical element in the adequate running of the hospital.
Conversely, MHA equips one with problem-solving skills critical in running a health institution as an administrator. There exist several decisions made in hospital-based on the rise of different problems which require specific skill in solving. Also, through studying for MHA, I will gain technical expertise which is essential in creating a competitive environment at the hospital, placing the hospital as highly performing center.
