In the world today, there is a growing trend in the number of people who are enrolling in Health Administrator Courses. There is a significant rise in the number of illnesses and thus a growing number in the number of people being admitted to hospitals for treatment. Healthcare Administrators are people who direct the various operations within a hospital, health systems and various other types of organizations. They do not interact with patients on a day today bass, however they are responsible for management of facilities, services, operations, staff, budgets, programs and other managerial functions within the hospital. They ensure the smooth running of Hospital activities and occupy middle to top level management positions. In a nutshell, they strategize, lead and manage patient medical services. Many people are not aware of the various duties and responsibilities of Health Administrators. The Paper below highlights the skills, roles and responsibilities of Health Administrators (Davila, 2017). 

As is with other industries, Healthcare Administrators must ensure that a University Degree is first attained as the entry level requirement. A bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. In other instances, an employer may prefer a person who has additional training or experience in the Nursing industry. For high-level executive position, an MBA or a Master’s degree may be required. Additional experience in Managerial positions also guarantees improvement in skills and decision making within the Industry. This is attained through the internship positions provided in the MBA and Undergraduate programs. Licenses/ certification programs are not a necessity in health Care Administration, however they are required in some forms of Health Care Facilities such as Nursing Facilities that provide long term care (Davila, 2017).

In Information Technology, they are responsible for ensuring all information within the Organization is well documented, handled, shared and stored. Information Systems incorporate all the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems that are implemented in the hospital. These systems ensure the effective flow of information and data within the hospital. Management of hospital operations requires communication and adequate information sharing hence the need for well operational systems. Hospital Administrators are responsible for all these systems. They are also tasked with development of all the information management frameworks that are used in the control and secure access of institutional files. They also ensure that these frameworks are in compliance with the laws and regulations in place (Adventist University of Health Sciences, 2017). 

In operations, there are various activities that take place during a typical day. It is important for all these operations to follow a systematic approach and flow to ensure there is coordination and cooperation. Healthcare Administrators are responsible for coordinating all these duties. Assigning necessary tasks and activities to various employees. They are responsible for Human Resource Activities ensuring proper etiquette and ethics are employed by all employees while on duty. At the same time, Healthcare Administrators must identify the various problems, threats and risks that may hinder or threaten the management and smooth flow of operations within the organization  (Davila, 2017) . 

Healthcare administrators are tasked with a lot of responsibilities across a vast platform. From Management, Information technology and Operational Activities, it is vital to be well equipped with managerial knowledge and skills. Additionally, providing necessary resources to be used within the Health Facility is an important requirement in Health Administration. All these, is a general view of what a health Administrator’s job is, their skills and responsibilities.
