There are so many health determinants that can directly affect the overall health outcome depending on the kind of care and services they obtain from their home nurse. As a home nurse, I realize that a client with congestive heart failure is quite delicate, and therefore they have to be treated. Given all the medical attention they require to survive their condition regardless of their biological, psychological, environmental, sociocultural, behavioral, and health system. For instance, the sociocultural determinants of health, like the ban from taking some forms of medication as a form of culture, may negatively affect the health of my client (Hinton & Artiga, 2018). Considering their critical condition, they should be ready to accept any forms of medicine and be able to eat foods without a choice as could be dictated by cultural values.
Additionally, in the case where the patient has biological determinants of health, such as the accumulation and interaction of dangerous exposures and infancy to adulthood, their chances of survival would be minimal. These factors would mean that there is a high chance of the client experiencing mortality as a transfer of genealogy in their family. Psychological determinants of health could include the patterns in thinking and the behavior of a client, which play a pivotal role in their overall health. A patient with critical heart failure should behave positively and be ready to receive care; otherwise, they would end up affecting their health and condition even further ( American Academy of Family Physicians, 2018). Such factors, therefore, intertwine with their behavioral and environmental determinants. For instance, if the client is in a pleasant environment with clean air to breathe and proper sanitization, their body is likely to respond best to the home care that they receive. Hence, it would positively improve their overall health.
