This week I decided to choose the topic: ‘Health IT,’ which is typically related to my specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This topic is intriguing to me primarily because of the positive impacts that the advancement in the technological sector has brought upon our lives. Health-wise, there have been significant benefits that many families have experienced from an upgraded information technology system in the health sector.
The nation has experienced an outstanding level of transformation in the health sector with regards to information technology. There has been a state of unlimited access to various services and various helpful data in the health sector as a result (Jacobs, 2017). This transformation has massively improved the relationship between the practitioners and their clients. Many patients are deemed to be part of the benefits of this transformation through the use of electronic health records.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Electronic health records help ensure that one’s families receive maximum attention regarding the state of their health in many ways. Firstly, these records help minimize the bulkiness of paperwork, thus reducing the number of forms to be signed by the patients. (McKeeby & Coffey, 2018). They also ensure that personal data of the patients safely reach the health providers, thus avoiding unnecessary mistakes (Jacobs, 2017). Additionally, electronic health records aid doctors ensure patients’ safety, especially in cases involving the prescription of medication by different specialists. Apart from that, these records provide patients with direct access to their health records as well as help minimize the inconvenience involved with unnecessary tests.
As a family practitioner, I can easily connect with my patients and ensure that their health safety is maintained through the help of their electronic health records.
