Canadian Paediatric Society
The Canadian Paediatric Society is an association of the paediatricians whose mission is to work together to promote the health of children and young people through enhancement of good health, education,and advocacy. The association was founded in 1922 and stood as a voluntary organization with more than 3000 paediatricians and other professionals working with the care of children as well as the youth ( Sacks, 2014 ). It is governed through the board of directors elected and who represent all the provinces. In 2017, the association adopted a strategic framework that focuses on its activities for the coming five years. The association focuses on early childhood development, mental health, and social paediatrics as well as therapeutics.
In the effort to meet its mission, the CPS emphasizes on key areas such as professional education, advocacy, surveillance,and research as well as public education. Through professional education, the CPS works to offer support on the educational needs of the paediatricians as well as the children and youth development. It offers educational opportunities to its members that aims at enhancing knowledge about its members ( Canadian Paediatric Society, 2019 ). Through advocacy, the CPS works in identifying the gaps that exist and make improvements in the public policy which has an impact on the health of the children as well as the youth. Throughpublic education, CPS works together with the members of the public including the parents to make decisions concerning the health of the children through the processing and provision of relevant information. Also through its CPS surveillance program, it works to ensure continued research on the rare disease to introduce immunization programs.

The CPS has been successful throughout its foundation because it has managed to positively influence the policies aimed at improving the health of children and the youth. It has successfully managed to implement various programs that have played a key role in enhancing the health outcome of the children. Working with other stakeholders within the health department, the CPS has improved the overall health of the children through policies and advocacy.
Ontario Health Coalition
The major goal of the Ontario Health Coalition is to improve and protect the overall health care system. The association works to honor and strengthen the principles of the Canada Health Act. Working with commitments to core values of social inclusion, democracy, and equality, the association has managed to influence various policies with public health ( Ontario Health Coalition, 2019 ). The coalition is guided by the five key principles which include comprehensiveness, accessibility, universality, public administration,and portability.
The OHC works to empower the members of the organization to get active in public policies with regard to health-related matters which aims at promoting the public health care system and have a healthy community. The interest group provides the members with information regarding the health care system as well as the programs to protect the health system from any threats. Also, the interest group provides public education to enhance a system of checks and balances on the appropriate decision making ( Ontario Health Coalition, 2019 ). Through collaboration with other organizations, the organization has actively enhanced policies that promote public health.
The OHC has been successful in many processes in its attempts to promote good policies on the public health system. Through policy advocacies, the interest group has emerged at the top in protecting the members as well as the public against the threats in the health care system by collaborating with other stakeholders to promote and enhance good health. It has participated and also lobbied in the various health policies to ensure that any health policy that is implemented aims at promoting and protecting public health.
