Q1.

The selected group is the adolescent group where a registered nurse conducts an interview to establish a relationship between him or her and the adolescent. The physical assessment carried out by an RN is unique since it involves a breast examination on girls past puberty stage (Pillitteri, 2014). For instance, if a girl less than eight years develops breast, the RN should suspect precocious puberty. Boys may develop hypertrophy of the tissues in the breast because of hormonal effects and nurses need to reassure them that it is a normal occurrence at their developmental age and will soon go away as androgen hormones increase and become dominant in their bodies (Pillitteri, 2014). Nurses examining adolescents should reassure girls that their uneven breast growth is normal since many women do not have symmetric breasts. The nurses need to inspect edema, wrinkling, erythema, and retraction of the skin since such signs may suggest the presence of a tumor.

Q2.

Health promotion denotes to finding ways to assess a person develop well-being of their physical, mental, and spiritual health. Health promotion activities are essential since they enhance optimal body function, irrespective of if one is well or sick. One health promotion focus for the adolescent group is assessing wellness and appraising health risk (Treas & Wilkinson, 2014). The essence of such activities is to identify behaviors which promote health and reduce the risk for diseases. Wellness examination focuses on encouraging healthy conduct and supports positive behavioral change to enhance health. On its part, a health risk appraisal allows one to identify risky behaviors that encourage disease. The adolescent group is vulnerable to risky health behavior and having programs that address wellness and appraise health risk is critical to their healthy development and prevention of diseases (Treas & Wilkinson, 2014).
