The growth of health care cost impact the government and employers in various ways. In this case, there are various impacts that can be deduced from this growth especially towards the American employer and the government. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (2015), the growth has led to a situation where the government and the employer are paying more towards health insurance whereby the citizen is not taxed. The growth in health care cost over the last one decade has seen a high consumption of a large share of the disposable income for the average American family (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2015). This has, in turn, directed the costs to the government and employers because it is safer than allowing the patients to seek cheaper medical solutions that might be costly in the long run.

Some of the essential indicators of economic benefits on GDP and employment include the fact that the average American can now be able to control the cost of living that has been made available by the government supported plans (Burnette, n.d.). For instance, the government together with the private sector has played an active role in enhancing the availability of health plans that are user-friendly and beneficial to the economy. The fact that employers are ready and willing to pay for health plans including telemedicine is an indicator that the DP of the US will keep on growing positively.

The recommendations that can be offered for a change in the healthcare sector include the fact that the heavy spending by the government on healthcare should be regulated. The costs keep on growing but there is no growth in the income of workers (McCarthy, 2015,). The reason given is that what that ought to have been paid to them directly was used for their medical expenses. Instead of depending on GDP growth based on returns from medical expenses, the costs should be lowered and the remaining finances channeled to employees’ salaries that would be directly injected into the economy.
