Healthcare organizations undergo different kinds of change both internally and externally. It is important for an organization to involve the staff in any changes implemented. This helps the staff receive and implement such changes positively. Initially the organization should consider engaging the team during the early planning stages (Cummings & Worley, 2014). This will help the staff take part in the decisions and give their views in case they will face any challenges.

In case the staff feels that they will experience financial crises in the expected reimbursement changes, they should be helped to make a transition through discussion sessions that allow them to give their opinions about the changes. They can be enhanced through one-on-one meetings to help them work through the changes. Individuals who have knowledge about the changes should be selected to capture the staff’s concerns towards the change process. This will help identify any issues that my result from such changes. The organization should be in a position to define such changes well and take the staff through all stages of change in order for the team to follow and understand (Cummings & Worley, 2014). This builds their confidence and helps them adjust easily to change.

Creating awareness to nurses on health care financing issues is important as it provides them with the required information. This helps the staff to adapt to changes without resistance. Nurses can be made aware of health care financing issues through internal communication by the organization. Such communications should be detailed and through staff meetings. Organizational meetings play a critical role in creating awareness because leaders are able to give direction and reduce the levels of uncertainties in staff members. They should as well implement communication channels that can reach out to a large number of employees and that can help them absorb the relevant information. Nurses should be addressed about the specific healthcare financial issues, reasons for such issues and the risks that come along with such issues.

Another way of creating awareness about change is through Human Process Intervention (Cummings & Worley, 2014). It is crucial for the staff to receive coaching and development on how to manage with the excepted changes. The awareness can be made through team building sessions whereby the staff will be in a position to get the information and even discuss it when away from the work environment. When such sessions are used to create awareness, it will not have effects on the performance of the staff because they will get back to work when they have already absorbed the information.

Change awareness can be created through health care organizations having learning sessions for nurses to enable them to understand the change, its causes and possible outcomes that are expected to result from the change (Kolb, 2014). Creating awareness through lessons helps the staff think and behave ways that are related to change. They get in a position to get knowledge and insight on how to incorporate change so that it does not affect their attitude towards work in a negative manner. Sending staff messages can also create awareness about change. This can be done through emails so that all personnel can get the information. Managers can as well have conversations with nurses on different levels as a way of creating awareness.

In conclusion, creating awareness to nurses about health care finances issues help them to adjust easily to change. Lack of awareness can bring about resistance in the work environment. They should understand what resulted in the changes and how they should adjust to it.
