The Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition is a healthcare organization that was commissioned in 1991 with the aim of promoting health and preventing diseases among Hispanic community living in Chicago. The initial funds used for construction was obtained from the US Department of Health and Human Services, and for the past 22 years, Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition has established a strong relationship with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. The main objective for the establishment of the organization is to enhance healthy behavior and minimize chronic diseases among the Hispanic communities in Chicago.
The team has drawn its membership from universities, local churches, regional offices of US health organizations, local community-based organizations, local health organizations and social services agencies. This has provided the organization with a huge number of active participants (more than 600 organizations) who gather to design and execute policy initiatives. The partnership developed has also given the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition networking ability with its members who usually provide resources and track records of policy matters; the organization also provide education through drilling health supporters on heart diseases and stroke to teach Spanish speakers.

The Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition targets all the Hispanic residents of Illinois State although its main target is children who are obese especially from the Hispanic community; this is because children are more vulnerable to heart diseases. The organization considers childhood obesity as an epidemic; hence they do their best to prevent it.
