In consideration of the case of the Lakeberg family, the decision will be made to the firm's right to surgery. This decision is made because it will promote happiness for the majority of people. The Lakeberg family, and the twins, will benefit from this surgery as it will increase the quantity and quality of health as well as that of pleasure ( Tännsjö, 2019) . Happiness occurs when pain is absent. Additionally, the achievement of ends and goals, such as surgery to separate the Siamese twins, will bring the virtuous living and be considered part of happiness ( Tännsjö, 2019) . Therefore, the decision will be to affirm the surgery. After approving the surgery, since the cost is too high, I will consider solicitation of money from the different sectors such as getting family members, the insurance companies will also pay some amount of money for the surgery to separate the Siamese twins (Villarroel, 2017). The well-wishers will also pay some amount of money towards the surgery to cater for a fraction of $1 million needed.

There is an ethical dilemma in the case. In consideration of the case, the surgery to separate the Siamese twins will result in happiness as it will bring virtuous living for the twins. On the other hand, it will result in economic consequences as the family is likely to use a lot of money for the completion of surgery to separate the Siamese twins, and this will cause the reverse of happiness economically. Therefore, the ethical dilemma exists in deciding which form of happiness should be considered, whether virtuous living for the twins or the economic wellbeing of the Lakeberg family.
