How Business Helped Shape America

Introduction 

In the ancient times, there were various aspects which helped in shaping the overall community situation especially in the United States. The statement implies that there were various primary elements which helped in controlling the overall progress of the community. Some the three primary concepts which enhanced the shaping of America since their settlement in the region include the religious freedom which they enjoyed, the aspect of poverty propagated with the increased cases of war which happened occasionally in the region, and the last component is the economic prospects shared by the nation. Fundamentally, the economic prospects served as the most significant factors which led to the development of the nation. The statement implies that the economic organization was fundamental as it helped to determine the social structure, enhance the governmental external and internal command, and also ensure the poverty cases are addressed comprehensively. Due to these aspects, it is prudent to concentrate on the specific business elements which helped in improving the welfare of the ancient Americans. Therefore, this essay aims to examine the roles the economic status played in forging the nations into a single nation. Furthermore, the paper also examines the specific ways through which the nation was shaped by the economic interests of the individuals during the ancient years.

English Colonies Shaped By Economic Interests 

The English Colonies in their time colonizing their multiple colonies, they happened to implement policies that aimed at shaping the economic structure of the colonies. The economic policies that they implemented were aimed at benefiting the British administration and on the other hand aimed at economically discriminate the colonists. The main agenda of the British administration colonizing these colonies was to economically gain revenue from these colonies. The British significantly integrated major laws which were being implemented by the British parliament that guides the nations into attaining their economic goals 1 . The policies that were implemented by the British government to some extent structured these societies by making them conversant with their main agenda. The British government also managed to integrate the military into achieving their function. The military main aim was to create fear in the multiple people in the society to be able to bow down to the oppressive rule.

Among the economic interest that the British government had with the American colonies is acquiring raw materials from the American colonies. The American colonies happened to have rich raw materials that proved to be essential for the British administration. The raw materials were acquired from the huge trucks of land that they had acquired in the American colonies. The raw materials that were being acquired in these colonies were being exported to the Great Britain. The raw materials also played a critical function in managing the industries that were present in Britain. The British administration also managed to acquire cheap labor from the various American colonies. The population of African slaves and Indian natives was high in some colonies. The minority ethnic groups were significantly used by the British administration officials to offer labor to the various industries and large trucks of land that had been acquired by the British.

Role Played By the Economy to Forge Colonies into One Nation

The Western land policies played a significant role in ensuring that the colonies were able to forge to become the United States. The push for independence by the American citizens was driven due to the vital decisions that were made by the British administration after the conclusion of the 1763 war with France. The concept that emerged from the British administration was the need for a necessary transformation for necessary transformation in the economic policies for the British administration towards the American colonies. The first critical issues involved the western land which was perceived to be a significant economy for the Americans. The British managed to acquire the French national land from the Allegheny Mountains to the Mississippi River which the British administration has decided to isolate the land from the American colonies 2 . The economic issue that made the American colonies be agitated by the move is because the British administration had restricted the Americans from settling in the land and conducting trade in the region. The restrictions fell under the Quebec Act of 1774 and Proclamation of 1763Act. The restrictions played a critical function in ensuring that host individuals, land companies, and American colonies were nullified from claiming ownership of the land. The actions made the American colonies to be agitated as they felt that were being reprieved from their economic right thus led to the American colonies to unite to acquire independence from the United States. 

Tax policies were among the basic economic policies that led to the American colonies to unite to acquire independence. The war between the French and the British which led to the British to emerge victoriously played a critical function in setting up of economic policies that seemed unfair to the American colonies. The British administration victory negatively affected the economy of the American colonies. The British government had significantly increased the domestic taxes to cater for the war expenses and the existing debt of the British government as the debt had risen considerably. The British to ensure that the American colonies comply with the new tax regulations; they decided to set up troops in different strategic positions. The most affected American colony was North America as the British setup, 10000 men, to enforce the law. The British aimed at sharing the cost with the America colonies. The Americans felt more the tax burden as compared to other British colonies. The British thought that the American colonies had a more economic capability and thus were subjected to pay more taxes. 

The British parliament decided to implement a series of tax to cater for the military expenses that were stationed in the American colonies. The tax acts were aimed at increasing the revenue in the American colonies to facilitate the smooth operations of the British army in the territories. The first Tax Act that was implemented was the Sugar Act which was implemented in 1764 3 . The Sugar Act directly affected the Sugarcane farmers who significantly relied upon sugar trade to acquire revenue. The British administration also decided to enforce a law that also aimed at lowering the tariffs on non-British goods with the aim of increasing their overall revenue collection in the colonies. The bill also aimed at reducing the issue of smuggling which would reduce the revenues being collected by the British administration. The British administration was determined to increase the revenue as they introduced the Stamp act. The Stamp Act was enforced with the aim at charging tax on legal documents, pamphlets, and newspapers. Moreover, in the same year, the British government decided to pass the Quartering Act which aimed at imposing tax charges that aimed at providing the British military with transportation, provision, and housing 4 . As if this was not over, the British administration also decided to impose Townshend Acts which aimed at collecting revenues from imported goods. The multiple tax regulations had a negative impact on the America colonies and its citizens. Most Americans in these colonies felt that the British administration was affecting their economic activities as they were subjected to these harsh taxes. The colonies were united for the purpose of fighting these harsh taxes and thus have a common goal to achieve which was to drive away the British colonist from the America colonies. 

The American deemed these multiple regulations that had forcefully been imposed onto the American colonies and thus opted to indulge its opposition in pushing for reforms. At the time, the American colonies chose for peaceful improvements which were used by the American opposition. The American colonies at the time lacked representation in the parliament and thus did not attempt to use the parliament to push for their reforms as the parliament only advocate for the interest of the British 5 . The American colonies opted to apply economic boycott with the aim of pushing for their agenda towards the British government. The American colonies were much determined as to push for their agenda as the British administration begun feeling the impact of the economic boycott. Moreover, the American colonies representatives and planning on their next step which was to ensure that they boycott the tax imposed on imported goods by the British administration government. The American colonies were so united in such a way that led to the American colonies to successful cause boycott which commenced in 1768 in New York and Boston 6 . The boycott also managed to spread across other cities in the United States. However, the British government felt that they had the sole right to the receiving taxes from their colonial territories and the rights the American opposition was advocating for, as, not in their picture. The British government felt the impact of the economic boycott but still held a perception that they played a significant role in creating policies which were to be fully adhered to by the American colonies. The American colonies were united to attain their economic freedom for the British colonies which would ensure that the American colonies were achieving financial sustainability. 

Conclusion 

All in all, the British government had enacted policies which aimed at ensuring that the British government achieves its business interest in American colonies. The British government was much determined into achieving these business interest that integrated the military to curb the opposition that might have faced in the American colonies. The policies seemed to have been working because the Americans lacked representatives to push for reforms. The legislations that were enacted played a significant role in attaining the business interests of the British administration.
