There exits autonomous relationship between movies and culture. Movies affect and consume mass culture, and they are an integral part of it and product of culture. As a result, it influences the concerns, attitudes, and beliefs. Movies, for example, have affected fashion, especially for advertising agencies. Similarly, movies shape and solidify cultural beliefs. It also necessitates significant changes in a person's identity that carries them through painful periods of cultural transition. Movies that were created during World War II sought to generate patriotism and develop a sense of self-sacrifice for a nation, and the film influenced people's opinions to the extent that the government poured money to this movie due to the easy it changed people's behavior. This paper discusses how culture affects the film we watch in positive and negative ways. 

Horror movies negatively influence culture in society. It originates from fiction that shows the negative side of life. It creates a sense of fear and terror. Presentation of these horrifying scenes, for example, vampires’ demonic possessions, evil children zombies and cannibals the movie create a world where nightmares become true. It can also make individuals lose their grip on reality.

Conversely, drug movies can place its audiences in uncomfortable situations due to experiences in the use of illegal substances. Drug movies have a high impact on the youths. Youths can change the way they behave to be like those individuals in the film. 

Movies can affect society positively. Videos on the caste system, dowry and socioeconomic divide help in creating awareness on these issues. 

In conclusion, movies can pose a dramatic influence on real-life positively and negatively. The chances are high that some films have influenced our popular culture in society even though one is unaware. Movies have changed our beliefs in many tangible ways.
