The integration of digital technology and education has become prevalent in modern society. Electronic Medias such as smartphones and tablets have now become the prevailing trends for interaction among people, institutions and even taking charge of several aspects of daily human activities. Digital technology has resulted in

the transformation of generating and communicating knowledge as well as influencing how learning and understanding are conducted. These technologies now form the central part of the organization of education such that free online courses have been established to supplement mortar institutions and the existing traditional bricks. This has even led to the rise of educational technology initiatives and policies. As a result, digital education has been linked with the emerging changes to count for knowledgeable skills.

Despite students and teachers being the major participators in this technology, many debates seem to arise from those institutions outside education. For instance, some industrialist, policymakers and other forums outside education have a different perception of educational technology claiming that it may cause severe changes in the education sector, for example, doing away with educators and learning institutions. Therefore, the most common arising question is to what extent do these technological innovation change learning? Is in the interest of people? With no doubt, digital technology is linked to performing specific things differently. The proponents argue that digital technology improves life by making things faster, cheaper and more efficient. However, the critics think that it is causing negative social changes. A good example is an idea that Google is making individuals more stupid.

Does Technology Help Students? Does it Hurt Students? 

Digital technology has improved learning for students especially by making learning more social and authentic. Also, students can conduct advanced research and engage in online courses. On the other hand, people cannot deny the fact that this initiative is also hurting the students. Though most students do not take time to anticipate on this issue, digital technology is contributing to inevitable fallbacks such that most students engage more in social media activities and end up losing concentration on their school work. On a similar occasion, digital technology seems to influence the behaviours of students in a negative manner considering that some consume violent and sexual videos.
