Part 1

Alien life, also known as extraterrestrial life, refers to life found outside the earth, with a probability of it not being created on earth. Aliens are imaginary life forms such as prokaryotes and more civilized beings than humans are. The search for proof of alien existence has been ongoing since the mid-20 th century, which included search for extraterrestrial intelligent life and search for current and historic alien life. The concept of alien life has had a significant impact on the culture especially in works of science fiction. Science fiction has been used over the years in attempts to communicate possible scientific ideas, which has been imagined in broader range of possibilities. These researches have resulted in debate on whether alien life actually exist ( Stevenson & Sean, 2017).

Some scientists such as Winston Churchill, Stephen Hawking, and Carl Sagan argue that alien life does exist. According to the Drake equation, intelligent life can exist elsewhere in the universe possibilities. It hypothesizes that alien life is not present in the Solar System and across the world. This argument depends on the reliable physical laws and enormous size of the visible world. They argue that it would be impossible for life not to exist elsewhere in the universe apart from the Earth. They claim that the earth has nothing unique and it not occupy a special position in the Universe, meaning life can exist in other parts of the universe. It is possible that shortly after the Bing Bang, the chemistry of life begun an indication that life may have occurred independently at various places across the universe. In addition, life may have been formed gradually and later, by the help of meteoroids, spread across other planets, which can support life, According to these scientists, the processes of alien life may have happened outside the Earth on planets of other stars and different planets and moons of the Solar Systems. Scientist have suggested that it is possible to find life in “habitable places” surrounding the sun. Numerous discoveries have indicated that there could be about 40 billion Earth-sized planets surrounding the habitable sites thus conclude that alien life does exist ( Stevenson & Sean, 2017).

While the existence of alien life may be true according to the assumption of these scientists, others believe alien life does not exist. They base their arguments on the absence of evidence for alien life. According to Fermi paradox, named after physicist Enrico Fermi, argue that there is no evidence for existence of alien life. The paradox highlight that the proponents for existence of alien life account their assumptions hypothetically without evidence because they derive a sense of hope that they will actually see an alien in the near future, therefore serving as a great assurance. The Fermi paradox emphasize on the need to offer proof of evidence rather than offer imaginary perception, which does not act as a true measure of evidence. The basic points of Fermi paradox argument suggests that, stars exists in the universe in billions, with a resemblance of the sun with many of these stars being billions of years older compared to that of the Solar System. In addition, they argue that if there is a high probability of existence of alien life, then some stars with Earth-like planets could have developed intelligent life. Moreover, the Earth should have seen or be visited by the aliens if at all they exists. There are no aliens or their artifacts ever discovered in the Solar System or Earth. If at all aliens’ exist, there must have been detectable artifacts left on Earth or the Solar system. Moreover, there are no signs of intelligence in the universe, meaning, the intelligent life does not exist. These intelligence should have existed somewhere in the universe. Numerous direct search of the Solar System has not found any evidence revealing a visit by aliens (Gray, 2015). Therefore, Fermi argues that there is no convincing evidence that alien life exists. The fermi paradox suggests that either alien life is very rare or propose reasons that aliens have not visited the Earth.

In conclusion, the debate on the existence of alien life can be termed as hypothetical and no real evidence has been provided so far. Most arguments are based on assumptions and scientific ideas and imagination. Therefore, although alien life may exist, it is evident that it has not yet been proved; meaning alien life does not actually exist.

Part 2

The assumptions made in the paper is that alien life does not exist. Although there are numerous assumptions that alien do exists in other parts of the universe, I personally believe that alien life does not exist. Am assuming that if alien life actually did exist, scientific discoveries would have been made by now. Numerous researches have been conducted on alien life over the years but no evidence has been found or documented. However, so far, no concrete evidence has been provided, rather its only hypothetical ideas that do exist. Moreover, there are no historical evidence recorded on the same.

I believe in my conclusion that alien life does not exist because life only exist on Earth, and that is the only proof that has been provided from scientific sources. Although some life may exist in Mars, no living creature has been found on Mars. Additionally, humans who go to Mars carry their own oxygen and water for survival, meaning there is no alien life. If my assumption is true, it means I would be agreeing with the Fermi Paradox and other scientists who believe that alien life does not exist.
