New Practice Approaches

Death and dying in a hospital setting are a common occurrence, but every patient has a different experience. The new practice approaches to healthcare can influence a patient's death; for instance, when medical practitioners fail to listen to the patient’s demands or ideas. The new practice approaches should not only focus on the latest technologies used in the medical field but a more personalized medical care. The medical practitioner should listen to the patients and meet their demands. Through these, the medical practitioners may avoid several deaths.

Interprofessional Collaboration, Health Care Delivery and Clinical Systems

Healthcare delivery should be more personalized through interprofessional collaborations, and medical practitioners should understand that even though patients have the same diagnoses; the disease may react differently in every patient. This calls for different clinical, approaches and clinical systems. For example, some patients may not respond well to MRIs, and CT scans even though they are useful tools (Aspelund et al., 2014). Doctors should be keen to detail and reliably deliver healthcare services to avoid complications in the future.

Ethical Considerations in Health Care

The healthcare system has numerous ethical considerations, the most common being euthanasia. The need for assisted suicide among patients who are in extreme pain is increasing, and medical practitioners are often in a dilemma on what to do (Crump, 2-13). Also, some hospitals tend to recommend a more expensive treatment option to increase revenue (Ganz et al., 2015). This is entirely unethical, and medical practitioners should be strict on the issue. The patient should be informed of the pros and cons of all treatments, and the hospital must be transparent. The patient can then decide which medication to take.

Population Health Concerns

Currently, more and more people are suffering from diabetes, obesity, heart conditions, cancer and such chronic diseases due to poor eating habits and unhealthy living therefore raising population health concern (Garg et al., 2014). Although this means more business for the hospitals, the healthcare system should increase awareness in public about healthy life. Hospitals should come up with programs that train the public about the best eating habits, the importance of exercising and what to do to avoid chronic diseases such as diabetes.

The Role of Technology in Improving Health Care Outcomes

Through the advancement of technology, the healthcare system has benefited through machines such as the CT scans and the MRIs. The machines facilitate efficient healthcare services. However, technology should improve not only health outcomes in the hospitals but also the public. Using technology, the public can access information about various health conditions and how to prevent them and how to stay healthy. This is enabled through the internet. Hospitals can come up with blogs, online magazines and other sources of information for the public to reduce healthcare costs and improve health outcomes.

Health Policy

Health policies should not only cover medical practitioners, patients, and potential patients. These policies should also include the general public and how the healthcare system can help people to live a healthier life. The healthcare system is not only responsible for treating diseases, but it is also responsible for preventing them.

Leadership and Economic Models

Currently, hospitals are business institutions, and they run through leadership and economic models (Rosenthal, 2018). In some cases, hospitals pay taxes, and they have to maintain assets and substantial revenue to purchase equipment. However, to ensure that hospitals do not overprice their services, leaders should agree on an appropriate pricing model.

Health Disparities

The society depicts health disparities based on age, economic status, race, and gender. More research should be done, and health practitioners should know that what may work in one person may not work in another due to their age, or gender.

Personal Strength and Weaknesses That Surfaced

As a health practitioner, one enjoys serving people and brings joy to their lives when they need it most. The student realized that she is sympathetic and strong enough to handle death. However, in some cases, it was difficult for the student to communicate with other medical practitioners and patients. The wards and hospital rooms did not have emergency buttons and this negatively affected efficiency. Hence the hospital should install emergency buttons that a patient can press in case of anything.
