The Internets impact on society is mostly felt in just about all things we do from placing orders to looking for life partners. In earlier years, there not much was known about technology, and even little about the massive opportunities it would bring along with it in future. From its roots the invention of the World Wide Web in the mid-90s which was the internet origin, we had Netscape browser which offered internet user the first opportunity to surf through the net (Correa, T. Personally, my habits with regard to internet usage have changed over time (Milanovic, 2016). Many internet demographics, for instance, age, education, income has some impact on internet usage. It means that if you want to use the internet you have to have the knowledge of it to be able to browse through the pages; this comes to how Information Technology really works. With increasing education experience has seen also my internet use increasing, this is not only the use of the internet but also the overall times which I spend on the internet has increased immensely. The internet needs increase as you gain more education, that is I might need to be on Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter or Instagram chatting with friends and to update myself on trends and also updating myself with most recent information on current affairs (Correa, T. (2016). At the same time I may be required to do school assignments, do research on some topic of interest or view YouTube educational materials, so the use of the internet to me is dynamic. Presently the smartphone experience has made the use of the internet a lot easier, as everything is within my reach. I can check emails at the same time reply, the numerous apps on my phone have really made the internet experience lovely.

The Internet has become a significant generation’s marker. Nevertheless, Internet use has grown with technological advancement. In Web 1.0, the baby boomers 1943- 1964 people were mostly content consumers and there were not many content makers. They spend lesser time on the internet to add up to roughly two hours. Early on in 2004, Web 2.0 was introduced, in this case, identified as user-made contents where consumers contribute to ideas, views, and other resources, on the internet (Milanovic, 2016). Web 2.0 is mostly relevant in the age of millennials which has made possible shared knowledge where users can play a major role in content creation, increase interaction which enhances sociability. The millennials fall under both the consumers and the provider. For the millennial comes various platform gave that arose to different interactions models. These include social networking sites, blogs, micro-blog, content-sharing sites, Wikis, social bookmarking sites, podcast, and forums. The baby boomers make more online purchases, Generation X following them. The Generation X falls in between the two generations; they may spend up to 10 hours on the internet searching for financial content or about their careers. As a millennial, my internet use is in harmony with other users of my generation (Correa, T. (2016).

In conclusion, majorly, the internet has affected how we interact, how we learn concerning international events, and still understands how our I.Q. functions. It has brought utility in almost all the sectors of our life.
