While I enjoy reading literary works, I would say my favorite genre is mystery novels. This type of books has plot that has lots of suspense in it and often exposes the reader to numerous surprises. Whether the mystery is set in the modern times or history, it always leaves the audience thrilled and guessing. The fun of mystery literature is deciphering the clues; one will frequently identify what he or she missed in the reading and will eventually come to a satisfying conclusion. My favorite author is Lillian Jackson Braun.
I concur with the idea that “one of the most important values of literature is that it nourishes our emotional lives.” This is because literature is meant to speak to the audience directly. Literature can move us to cry, tremble, and dream, ponder, shriek or rage. Literature can also make the heart to race. By appealing or impacting emotions, literature makes the audience to have a different perspective of the world. Literature allows us to move beyond our limited perceptions of the world and view people or environments that are completely different. It is common knowledge that people who read literature experience more life and have a keener sense of a common human identity than those who do not.

The “ cat who Series ” is a work of literature that has affected me in many ways. Firstly, this series makes me think that cats have feelings and emotions and I realized the need that they deserve to be treated with some dignity. For instance in the cat who dropped the Bombshell. Koko, the Siamese cat, begins to act strangely when some guests become reclusive. Koko helps his owner to unravel the story and solve the mystery; there is a murder mystery that the cat helps to unravel. The book shows that cats have unique capabilities and can be used to solve life issues.
