School gun violence is becoming an issue of concern in the United States due to the gradually increasing gun violence associated with incidents in schools. According to a recent survey conducted on gun-related violence, shows that cases of school gun violence have been on the rise for the last decade ( Fox and Fridel, 2018). When addressing the issue of school gun, it is essential to that it is a delicate issue which requires attention. Some of the leadership strategies and principles that I would apply as the prevention specialist addressing the issue of gun violence in school are as follows ( Shapiro and Stefkovich, 2016)
Leading by example
As a prevention specialist, I would ensure that everything I tell my audience is practical and applicable to all the students, including myself. I would motivate and encourage my audience my discussing the effects of school gun violence and the reasons why it should come to an end. I would be ready to spearhead the decision-making process in regards to the topic of discussion.

Focusing on change
I would focus on bringing the issue of school gun violence to an end. I would be steadfast in my regarding the issue of gun violence urge my audience to come together in the fight to end the problem. I would motivate and empower my audience by creating a motor such as 'the change is now if not now then right now."
Admitting mistakes
I would accept the mistakes already committed in regards to school gun violence and urge my audience to focus on the future rather than the past. I would emphasize the need to create a vision that is aimed at preventing cases of gun violence. For instance, focusing on how the causes of school gun violence could be countered
Working together to achieve
I would urge my audience to embrace teamwork in the effort to bring school gun violence to an end. In effect of this, I would encourage my audience to form groups to discuss the approach that can be used to reduce or eliminate cases of school gun violence.
