The Radiology Informatics department at Emory University Hospital developed a strategy to adopt LifeImage network. The strategy was developed to capitalize on digitization and image exchange through connecting to the LifeImage database, which pools together data from healthcare facilities that have networked with LifeImage. Further, the strategy was adopted to enhance the department’s aim to provide quality value-based care in a safe and efficient environment using innovative solutions.
Implementing strategy requires a multi-step process. In implementing the strategic plan at Emory University Hospital, the Radiology Informatics' department leadership built a capable leadership team. The team comprised of two technologists, one administrator, and two physicians. The team subsequently developed an implementation plan which was projected to span for six months. Upon creation of the implementation plan, the team worked to allocate budgetary resources, creating responsibilities, structures, and processes to prepare for the implementation process. Further, the implementation team organized internal department workshops in efforts to align the people and communicate the strategy to gain support from other staff members.

Different team members within the implementation team were allocated various responsibilities. First, the administrator was expected to lobby for financial resources from the finance department. Further, the administrator made propositions on who was to do what, when, and how ( Ebener & Smith, 2015) . The technologists in the team were expected to gather information regarding the best network in the market that was in line with the department’s vision and the budgetary estimates for acquiring it. The physicians were expected to make recommendations regarding the needs of the department. In addition, they made suggestions and approval regarding the network that would best suit the department in efforts to provide quality care for clients.
