As a social worker and a resident of Colorado State, I am concerned about the growing rate of alcoholism in our state. According to the National Institute on Alcohol and Alcoholism (NIAA)), Colorado has been ranked among the top ten states with the highest number of alcohol consumption and abuse ( Rehm, J. 2011) . As a result of this worrying trend, the rate of poverty and reduced level of income has been on the rise for the last few years. Most men spend almost over half of their income on alcohol, making them unable to provide their families with the basic requirements that they need. This creates a depression in families. Also, health report has shown that there is increased admission of patients with alcohol-related diseases such as li v er cirrhosis ( Johnson, 2010) . Most bars open during working hours in which some men choose to drink rather than go to work. This trend is stagnating the economic growth of our state and increasing the poverty level of our people.
As our elected Senator and Representative in the legislation, I urge you to support us in finding a solution to this social problem. I believe you can lead by creating a legislation that will restrict the number of hours alcohol is sold as well as the timing. Also, you can lead in forming anti-alcoholism campaign team that will meet the alcohol victims and provides counseling to them. As social workers, we are very ready to initiate the counseling and anti-alcoholism program, but we are financially stalled. I, therefore, request that you partner with us in this program and assist in financing the program so that we can change the lives our people for the better future generation. According to World Health Organization, & World Health Organization. Management of Substance Abuse Unit. (2014 ), anti-alcoholism and counseling are evidence-based interventions that have been used to control the rate and effects of alcohol consumptions amongst individual. You have always been supportive when it comes to the matter of welfare of your people, and I look upon you. Thank you for your consideration and kindly feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss the matter further.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.

Part II: Explanation
I selected the issue of alcoholism because of the negative impacts it has on the social as well as the economic status of the people. With too much alcoholism, the social lives of the families affected will be disrupted. The families will undergo depression as they try to cope with the state of their kin being an addict. The health issues associated with alcoholism are also a source of stress to the family members. As a social worker responsible for counseling and education role in the society, this issue affects my field adversely. It is quite challenging to provide education on social matters to people who are dealing with depression in their lives. Also, these programs require funds which social workers may not manage unless through support.
I chose the senator for various reasons. First, the senator as a constituent member of this society is in a position to understand the social as well as economic problems of the people in the state. The senator is always around with the constituents and is therefore aware of the main social issue in question. Also, as an elected member of the region, the senator has a role in helping improve the lives of the electorate both through legislation and social support. The senator has been elected in the past with overwhelming support, making him the most influential leader in the state. The constituents, therefore, respect him and this will be an added advantage in finding the solution. His influential nature and the large following can be used as an advantage to convince the constituents to change their drinking habit. Also, the senator has a history of supporting and making contributions towards the social welfare of the community. These were the factors I considered before choosing the specific representative.
