The path to human success and excellence is marked with various singular steps that when combined bring the whole picture. For someone to go through the process of becoming a celebrated and successful professional, they have to go through all the life stages without skipping any. The general steps to reaching professional heights always start with education. In the health sector, much of the information is obtained from the academics, as that stage is crucial. This paper will describe the prerequisite component of professional success that a person requires to make them excel in the field of nursing as a registered nurse.

Education is a must have for any person who wishes to become a registered nurse. In this field, there are three academic steps that I will take to become an RN. The lowest entry is diploma in nursing level which is less frequent (Oermann & Gaberson, 2016). It deals with the basic of caregiving and carrying out simple first aid tasks and duties. Although, this would not be enough for the high qualifications in the nursing field as it will only give me the foundation of nursing. After the diploma, there is also an Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree which is meant to last for two years ( Jackson, 2016) . In this program, I would learn the technical application of nursing by taking instructions from both classroom and clinical setting. I would go further to pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree to advance my opportunities of practice.

During the education levels, there are essential plans that should be put in place to ensure I succeed. Because a lot of time is required to complete education, it means that the success in that stage will depend on my ability to set academic goals and abide by them. The goals would include both short and long-term, with the base being to obtain the required GPA points. The first goal is to find what kind of study works best for me, whether it is as an individual or a group ( Reis, 2012) . I will also have to schedule classes around my habits with the most productive time of the day allocated the most robust category. To achieve my goals, I would develop study skills that include time management, revision, note-taking, reading skills, and class participation. Also, I would work hard on my research skills as the field required proficiency in studying the previous developments.

In college, I would do plan to make sure I am on par with all the prerequisites regarding knowledge and skills ( Jackson, 2016) . One of the most important steps is to define a major, which in this case is nursing. Then it would set goals that support the growth in that area as well as the get the best plan that would work for me. As an undergraduate, I would work closely with the faculty adviser to help me plan realistic goals that can be reached without strain. I would also take courses outside nursing that I feel would benefit in developing my nursing career such as leadership and management courses. I would look for classes that increase my experience and breadth in the field of nursing.

In all these endeavors, faith is an essential component as we cannot live in isolation. Faith will make me live righteously while helping in the guidance of the right ways of life. When the things that I plan in life do not seem to work my way, my relationship with God will comfort and console me with the hope of having a better tomorrow. Faith is the pillar with which anything is possible, as it drives out the doubts that an individual has. Thus, it is vital to living believing that everything will work out, and have a discipline of being patient when they do not.

In conclusion, the path to becoming an RN requires various aspects of life with the most significant chunk left for the academic bit. Therefore, it is vital to prepare on how to achieve the educational goals to be in the career. With the right education, planning and guided by faith, an individual can make it in anything they wish for.
