Scope
We have identified two training methods that the company can adopt to train its employees. (1) e-learning. E-Learning uses online materials such as videos, PowerPoint presentations, and courses to deliver training materials. The training is delivered to the employees in their smart devices or company computers. The internet is a huge resource and employees can consult other sources too. This training will cost $1000
(2) Instructor-led training. This is the traditional way of training employees. It is the typical teacher /student/classroom setup. This form of training is best suited for advanced and advanced topics. It has also gone online whereby an instructor doesn’t have to be physically present in the room to deliver the lessons. This form of training is highly interactive and allows the instructor to address the needs of the students directly (Sahinidis, & Bouris, 2016). With recent developments in web-based video conferencing, some platforms can support online classrooms like zoom and Google classroom. This training will cost $5000
Training requirements
The training to be provided will have two deliverables (1) shows employees how to showcase their designs on the company website. Secondly, the training will assist employees to learn how to convert internet leads into an actual business. Additionally, the training intends to unify the company’s approach to internet communication. The training will inform the employees on the dos and don’ts on the internet.
(2) The company is based in America but we want to incorporate Chinese designs and motifs to our work. The management has realized that the American market is dynamic and quite receptive to new ideas. Once Chinese designs are incorporated to western designs clients have always remarked that it felt like it was a breath of fresh air. Additionally, the new investor has committed to ensuring that we have access to the latest Chinese designs. The management felt that employees need to be informed and trained on these new developments
Conclusion
A comparison of both ways of training methods reveals that technology is the most common feature of both training models. The main difference is that instructor has the opportunity to clarify the issues raised during the training. On the other hand, e-learning presents an opportunity for continuous engagement. In terms of costs, instructor-led training is expensive because the instructor charges a professional fee. However, the material that both sets of training utilize is essentially the same.
Recommendations
E-learning should be adopted due to its flexibility in the following areas. (1) Dissemination, the selected material will be sent to the employee’s smartphones and they can access it at their pleasure. Secondly, the employees can be given references to areas of further reading and research .
