The study is tailored to anticipate and strive to address the social care and the projected health demands of the United States populace in the period between 2020 and 2030. The study defines the role of nurses in the complex healthcare continuum. The underlying assumption is that an informed populace that adheres to clearly defined regulations is bound to contribute to the quality of healthcare in the United States. Furthermore, the study identified the gaps or barriers that hamper the productivity of nurses and compromises the nature of the United States public health.
The article will be significantly impactful to my future career as a nurse because it acknowledges that the demands pertaining to the nursing practice are continually shifting. Although the competencies that each nurse is required to possess are somewhat standard, the aspects that guide how a nurse is supposed to act in today’s evolving setting keeps shifting. Therefore, the study helps me to understand the importance to continuously exploring new approaches in a bid to improve the quality of care that I will be dissipating.
