Different people from different age groups view the issue of health in various dimensions. It is their view of health that determines how well they take care of themselves and those around them. According to young adults whose age ranges from 18-30 years old, healthy is a relative term to them that means being able to enjoy life without getting sick and it also entails having an appealing physique. To the adults who are 40-55 years of age, the word healthy means being free from any physical disability and having good mental health. The term healthy, however, to the old aged people who are 60 years and above, implies being free from physical pain due to a weak body structure or chronic disease.

The definition of the word ‘healthy’ in each of the age groups determines how they live their life to stay healthy. For the young adults, staying healthy involves being able to protect themselves from diseases that are sexually transmitted due to how they mingle with each other. Staying healthy, according to the young adults who were interviewed, also involves working out regularly to have a good body physique. During the interview, it was recorded that adults who are 40-60 years-old, try keeping off alcohol and smoking habits, and this, according to them is staying healthy. They also stay healthy by eating sugar-free foods, and they are more of vegetarians. According to the old-aged adults who are 60 years and above, part of staying healthy entails regular undergoing screening tests to ensure that their bodies are free from any disease that comes with old age. They also stay healthy by keeping off anything that would disturb their mental peace since it has a ripple effect on their cardiovascular system since they believe that their hearts get weaker with age.

One commonality found in all the participants of the interview was that staying healthy was dependent on the environment in which you are in and the people one surrounds themselves with. They all said that having good company or a supportive family enhanced their health. The key difference, however, was that the interviewees noted that their health was dependent on several biological factors that came along with their particular age at that particular time. Issues about the nervous system were common in older adults than in the young adults. This was because of the declining body abilities that came with age.
