I believe white-collar crime will increase in the future due to various reasons. One reason is the lack of investigation of white-collar crime compared to street crime. There is little attention being given to white-collar crimes than other common crimes since it is difficult to investigate and prosecute such crimes. Another reason is the continued advancement in technology. Technological progress means that newer ways of perpetrating computer, identity, and credit card fraud will emerge (Parry & Richardson, 2013) . White-collar crime will increase given that there is an increase in the use of digital solutions such as digital payment services. White-collar criminals will increase due to the huge potential earnings provided by such services. Computer crime is an increasing threat in the future due to the digitization of business activities and increased dependability on the internet. In the future, a considerable portion of business activities will be digitized. Currently, business processes and transactions are increasingly being digitized to take advantage of savings brought about by new technology systems and processes (Parry & Richardson, 2013) . Resultantly, more and more businesses will be left vulnerable to computer crimes such as hackings, phishing attacks, and denial of service attacks. Computer crimes such as spamming and phishing will become more sophisticated in the future due to increased creativity by cybercriminals. Sophisticated crimes are significantly tailored to their victims. They are carried out in a well-crafted manner, with accurate transaction and personal details being passed on to the victims to trick them into trusting the criminals. For instance, in sophisticated wire fraud, accurate and detailed personal and transaction details are shared with the victim, making them believe that they are dealing with a legitimate party. Another characteristic of a sophisticated crime is limited detection. Sophisticated crimes such as cybercrime can be carried out easily without victims unaware of the criminal methods and tools being used.
