Finally, I would try to relate what the author is saying with what happens in the society when the child lives in. With these skills, I believe I would be able to explain what the author of the article is trying to bring out about discrimination and inequality in the society.
In conclusion, at the age of seven most kids are able to understand and pick up what is going around them hence trying to explain article and stories to them would a bit easier. However, in order to make sure that they understand, you need to ask them questions, do some role-playing and even relate what the author is trying to imply with situations that happen in real life around them.
