In a Business Insider article, Jeff Bezos asks what the point of making billions is if a billion-dollar mistake cannot be made now and then (Gilbert, 2019). It is the same philosophy that many businesses use today. For such business entities, it is always better to try and fail than fail to try at all. Several reasons can cause a business to fail in a specific venture. One of the reasons is poor planning. When looking to diversify, businesses need to plan and include all the possible outcomes. According to Kurt Lewin's force-field model of change, the first step toward that change is unfreezing, which involves challenging the company's beliefs and practices (Cummings, Bridgman, & Brown, 2016). The step is usually uncomfortable since the business is already used to functioning in a certain way. After unfreezing, the change now comes in where the business begins the new ways of production. After the change has taken place, the business is now ready to refreeze. After all, the stakeholders are already used to the new business model. Some of the signs that a business show includes consistent job descriptions and a stable organizational chart. With the new sense of stability in place, the employees are now confident in the operations of the enterprise.
